Film Star Vonetta McGee Dies

July 16, 2010

Actress Vonetta McGee has passed away at age 65 after suffering a cardiac arrest.  She was a shining star during the so-called blaxploitation era of the 70’s.  (It is said that she didn’t like the term “blaxploitation”.)  She starred in “Hammer” with Fred Williamson, “Shaft in Africa” with Richard Roundtree and “The Eiger Sanction” with Clint Eastwood, to name a few.  Rest in peace.
